Abu Dhabi from Dubai: Day Trip or Overnight?
Grand Mosque timing, Louvre tickets, Yas Island parks, and whether 90 minutes each way is worth it for your interests.
Abu Dhabi sits 140 km southwest of Dubai — roughly 90 minutes by car on Sheikh Zayed Road. Day trips work for mosque and Louvre focus; overnight stays suit Yas Island theme parks.
Day Trip Itinerary
Depart Dubai by 8am. Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque opens to tourists mid-morning — allow 90 minutes. Louvre Abu Dhabi needs 2–3 hours. Corniche lunch and return by evening. Tight but feasible.
When to Stay Overnight
Ferrari World, Warner Bros World, or Yas Waterworld each demand a full day. Saadiyat Island resorts pair beach time with museum access. Friday mosque closures affect morning planning.
Transport
Private car is most flexible. Intercity E101 bus exists but is slow for single-day visits. Many travellers fly out of AUH after Abu Dhabi nights rather than returning to Dubai.
