Tourist Entry
Updated 15 Oct 2025
Requirements
Many nationalities receive visa exemption for tourism stays of 30–90 days depending on passport and entry point — rules are bilateral and change. Stays beyond permitted exemption require a tourist visa (single or multiple entry) obtained from a Thai embassy before travel. Passport must be valid at least six months with one blank page. Proof of onward travel and sufficient funds may be requested at immigration.
Processing
Visa exemption is granted at immigration on arrival for eligible passports — no pre-application needed. Tourist visas through embassies typically process in 3–5 working days. Thailand e-Visa portal available for certain nationalities and visa types.
Entry permission is determined by Thai immigration officers at the port of entry. Overstaying any permitted period carries fines and potential bans. Confirm your nationality's current exemption or visa requirement before departure.
